For the 37th anniversary of the Golden Steering Wheel awards from the Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag readers voted the revolutionary Opel Zafira Tourer, the lounge on wheels, winner of the van category. This is the third time the Zafira has won this important award following triumphs in 1999 and 2005.

Insignia is launched with a wide array of innovations. The Opel Eye is a small wide-angle, high-resolution on-board camera reads road signs and lane markings, thus improving driving safety. The FlexRide adaptive suspension system reacts instantly to changing conditions and adapts to driving style. AFL+, the next generation of Adaptive Forward Lighting automatically adjusts to conditions, ensuring safer and more relaxed driving. The ergonomic seats get the AGR seal of approval which is a special distinction for quality given by an independent panel of ergonomics experts and doctors.

The FlexFix® rear carrier system simply slides out from the rear bumper, so it doesn’t take up storage space in your garage or home. Fist featured on the Corsa, later on Insignia, Astra and Meriva.

The Astra GTC is the first series vehicle available with a panorama windshield extending from the hood to the B pillar. This innovative windshield offers driver and front seat passenger an almost unlimited field of vision and creates a whole new sense of space.

Opel raises safety levels by making full-size airbags for driver and front passenger standard equipment in all carlines.
