AFL+ / BI-XENON

See more and get noticed.

  • Sophisticated driver aids set the Mokka apart. It’s the first car in its category to offer adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights: Opel’s award-winning Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL+). It enhances visibility through curves and sharp bends, making night driving significantly safer – and more relaxed. Nine different light beam settings improve road illumination by up to 90 % versus fixed headlamps. The movable elements in the sleek Bi-Xenon headlights automatically adjust themselves to different driving conditions, speeds and traffic situations – providing optimum illumination in every driving situation without dazzling other drivers.

Town light.

  • Reducing the forward range and increasing the width of the illumination improve the visibility in the city. The setting is activated at speeds between 30 and 55 km/h. In urban environments this is especially less blinding for the oncoming traffic.

Pedestrian area light.

  • At speeds between 3 and 30 km/h the headlights swivel slightly outwards, ensuring better visibility of the side of the roads in urban environments. They are less blinding for oncoming traffic, because the forward range is reduced.

Static cornering light.

  • The cornering settings are activated by operating the turning signals in the respective direction, at speeds between 0 and 40 km/h and during reverse driving. This enables the driver to see pedestrians and obstacles better, when turning or parking.

Country road light.

  • Similar to ordinary halogen headlights this setting is activated at speeds between 55 and 110 km/h, optimizing the range around the side of the roads. This is important on country roads due to hazards such as fallen trees and game passes. Additionally the oncoming traffic is once again less blinded.

Adverse weather light.

  • If it is snowing or raining this setting is always activated at speeds between 30 and 70 km/h by operating the windshield wipers. On your own lane the forward range and light output is increased and at the same time the forward range and light output on the opposite lane is decreased.

High beam assist.

  • The system recognizes preceding and oncoming vehicles, as well as environmental lighting and automatically turns the high beam on or off. This way maximum visual range is guaranteed and blinding of the oncoming traffic is prevented.

Highway light.

  • While driving at speeds above 115 km/h this setting is always activated. The range is optimized by increasing the performance of the headlights for maximum brightness on the lane.

Dynamic curve light.

  • The dynamic curve lights steer with you by using all settings (except cornering lights) and is dependent on the steering angle. Not only is the blinding of the oncoming traffic reduced, but also this setting increases the range and visibility of obstacles on curves.
