FRONT DESIGN

The slim, sharp “eagle-eye” headlight treatment, combined with the wide, low radiator grille, make an immediate impact and underline one thing: Precision.

A new wing-shaped chrome bar carrying the Opel logo with the traditional flash – adding extra style to the upper grille. The fog lamps have been separated from the turn indicators and recreate the design philosophy of the bi-Xenon headlamps.

A lower, wider radiator grille now highlights the wide stance that emphasizes the sturdiness and sporting capability. To bring the new front design to perfection, the registration plate holder has been seamlessly integrated in the bumper.

BIG, FLEXIBLE STORAGE SPACE

Discover one of the biggest storage space in compact class and new ways of managing it: FlexFold, a class-leading push-button system that automatically folds the rear seats.
Then there is the Easy Access Cover, the fingertip operated 4-way load compartment cover that is also a first in class feature of the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer. Under the luggage compartment floor you will find additional space for items that are not or might not usually be needed. In addition you can customize your Astra Sports Tourer load space to whatever fits your life or work style – with he modular FlexOrganizer® system.

INNOVATIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFL+)

The new Astra is the first car in its class to offer intelligent Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward Lighting Plus (AFL+) headlights, the award-winning AFL system from Opel. AFL makes driving at night just as comfortable as during the day.

FLEXRIDE TECHNOLOGY

A mode for every mood: With just a touch of the FlexRide button, you can change the whole driving dynamics – from ‘Sport’ to ‘Tour’ and back again. Using Continuous Damping Control (CDC) technology, FlexRide automati­cally adjusts the dampers to give you excellent road holding. When driving sporty, Watt’s linkage* stabilises the rear axle by reducing unwanted lateral movement.

ENGINES

For Astra drivers, the wide choice of reliable and fuel-efficient engines is one of the great attractions of the line-up. It’s reassuring to know each one is designed and built by German engineers.

The all new Astra saloon is available also with the environmentally aware ecoFLEX Technology Pack that significantly lowers fuel consumption, running costs and emissions – amongst others through Start/Stop technology and brake energy recovery.

CERTIFIED ERGONOMIC SEATS

These optional front seats were crafted by Opel and found by independent experts at Germany’s prestigious AGR organisation to be perfect for your back. They let you separately fine-tune the lumbar cushion in four directions to give your upper body extra support - which is especially great on longer trips.

OPEL EYE DRIVE ASSISTANCE

Leave some things to your assistants: Opel Eye is a windscreen-mounted camera that scans the road ahead and relays what it sees to a series of high-tech optional driver assistants like AFL+, Traffic Sign Assistant and Lane Departure Warning. The latest Astra line-up features a new version of the Opel Eye system with an even better camera.

SIDE BLIND SPOT ALERT

Especially useful on all multi-lane highways, the Side Blind Spot Alert uses side-mounted sensors to check if there is an obstructing vehicle in the inner or outside lane when you want to switch lanes.

It continually monitors the blind spots on both sides and lights an LED in the inner or outer rear view mirror when a vehicle is in this area. If the indicator is used when a vehicle is in this problem zone, the LED flashes and the system warns you with an acoustic signal (active up to 140 km/h).

REAR VIEW CAMERA

The Rear View Camera, mounted in the tailgate handle, is automatically activated by selecting reverse, and has a viewing angle of 130 degrees. What it sees is displayed on the color screen of the infotainment system.

A dynamic overlay is projected over the view, showing the trajectory of the parking angle in accordance with the steering movement. Horizontal lines are projected at one-meter intervals giving an accurate indication of the distance from any objects or obstructions.

UNIQUE INTEGRATED BIKE CARRIER

The FlexFix® bike carrier slides in and out of the bumper so you can easily mount two bikes on the back of the car. When you want to open the trunk of the Sports Tourer, you can tilt it conveniently out of the way. And when you don’t need it anymore, it slides back into the bumper. To carry two more bikes on the Sports Tourer, simply attach Optional FlexFix® extension.

FlexFix® is an option on the Astra Hatchback and Sports Tourer. Astra Saloon drivers can fit an alternative accessory that lets you mount bikes on the towing hitch.
