The INSIGNIA FLEXRIDE ELECTRONIC CHASSIS CONTROL SYSTEM.

Insignia’s FlexRide makes driving safer and much more fun. It reacts instantly to changing conditions and adapts to your driving style in real time. This class-leading electronic chassis control system lets you pick the driving dynamics that suit your mood. “Sport” for a more responsive drive, e.g.: stiffer damping, tighter speed-sensitive steering and sportier shifting (with the automatic transmission). “Tour” for relaxed cruising: the dampers react more softly for a smoother ride. “Standard” is the default mode and focuses on fuel economy and refined driving. FlexRide also alters the characteristics of the gas pedal, ESP and steering, and, if applicable, also changes the all-wheel drive set up and automatic transmission, adding emotion to the driving experience. The core components of FlexRide are Continuous Damping Control, 4-channel ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control, and ESP.

The INSIGNIA ADAPTIVE 4X4 ALL WHEEL DRIVE.

Insignia’s Adaptive 4x4 system improves handling and stability in all driving conditions. As a segment first, the new FlexRide chassis control system also fully integrates the electronically controlled all-wheel drive. Two electronical limited slip differentials ensure that engine torque is not only automatically distributed between front and rear axles, but also between left and right rear wheels. This distribution provides maximum traction, stability and outstanding driving dynamics. The result: increased safety and driving satisfaction. The optional Super-Sports Pack adds Opel’s HiPerStrut front axle, which isolates the steering from the negative effects of high engine torque. It also includes high-performance Brembo brakes and a handling-biased, lowered chassis.

By optimizing engine calibration, adapting the drive ratio, refining aerodynamics, fitting special tires and shift indication, ecoFLEX protects the environment without compromising driving performance.

The INSIGNIA FUEL EFFICIENT DIESEL.

Three 2.0 common rail turbo units are available with 81 kW (110 hp), 96 kW (130 hp) or 118 kW (160 hp). The most powerful of these has a variable geometry turbocharger, which smoothly eliminates turbo lag. Its over-boost function provides extra torque whenever needed. The Insignia diesel range is now topped by the sophisticated 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI (143 kW/195 hp). Here, two turbochargers complement each other, delivering consistently high torque levels at all engine speeds so that the capability for immediate acceleration is always there. In combination with manual transmission, all Diesel engines are available with the ecoFLEX Technology Pack. This includes Opel’s Start/Stop System for even lower emissions and fuel consumption, especially in city traffic.

The INSIGNIA’S ECOTEC PETROL ENGINES.

Insignia’s ECOTEC® petrol engines combine sporty performance with fuel efficiency. The range starts with the 1.8 and the downsized 1.4 Turbo, which is also available for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and is a perfect example for the downsizing principle. Both delivering 103 kW (140 hp). More power? One 1.6 and two 2.0L turbo units deliver an impressive 132 kW (180 hp) and 162 kW (220 hp) / 184 kW (250 hp) respectively. At the top end, the 2.8L V6 Turbo engine delivers 191 kW (260 hp). All engines are mated to either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions.
