Rüsselsheim. Opel will stage two world premieres at the 86th Geneva Motor Show – the compact SUV Mokka X and the futuristic GT Concept sports car. As usual the show (which opens its doors to the public from March 3-13) begins with two press days. Opel Group CEO, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann and his team are therefore inviting all journalists to the Opel press conference on March 1 at 11.00 a.m. on stand 2231 in hall number 2 of the Palexpo.
In addition to the motor show debutants Mokka X and GT Concept, the entire Astra family will be on display at the Opel stand. The Astra drives into the Geneva spotlights for the first time with Opel’s all-new twin turbocharged diesel engine. In combination with start/stop, six-speed manual transmission and low rolling-resistance tires, the 118 kW/160 hp 1.6 BiTurbo CDTI in the Astra consumes only 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers (109 grams of CO2 per kilometer). The new 330 hp Astra TCR racing car will provide additional thrills to motorsport fans visiting the stand.
“Our Geneva stars highlight exactly what Opel is today. The GT Concept shows that we are innovative and have a clear vision of where we are going. The new Astra and the new Mokka X show that we listen to our customers and put them at the center of everything we do by building cars that are desirable and affordable. And the Astra TCR shows that we are embracing our motorsports heritage with all its emotional connotations,” said Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann.
Furthermore, Opel will offer a livestream of the press conference for people who cannot attend in person. Third party websites can use the following code to embed the livestream on their website:
