Rüsselsheim. Adam Opel originally founded the company with the sewing machine. The brand with the lightning flash now closes the loop to the automobile and back to the sewing machine. Following the successful world premiere of the Opel GT Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Opel follows up with the second tribute to its glorious past. After “Umparken im Kopf”, diversity is the latest buzzword in Rüsselsheim, with the Hessian carmaker now moving into the fashion business – with a futuristic sewing machine.
Purist, electrifying and uncompromising. Just as with the GT Concept sports car, Opel now proves that bold, pioneering design can be affordable in the rag trade too. In order to meet high demand and attract new customers, the Opel Management Board has decided to add two sewing machines to the product portfolio.
Fashion moguls, designers and tailors will soon be able to convince themselves of Opel’s sculptural design and German engineering. Opel sewing machines have been famous since 1862 for their high quality and durability. The sewing machine that will debut at the 2016 Paris Fashion Week will put all others into the shade, and not only with its higher performance. It will also display the highest precision and the fastest maximum speed. To borrow a phrase from the famous GT: “Only sewing is better.”
